Using Fyxer Chat for search, answers, and drafts

Your questions answered, your drafts written – all in one place.

Fyxer Chat searches across your inbox, meetings, documents, and calendar to answer questions and draft emails in your own voice.

Fyxer Chat can only access context that's available to you – it can't look at other people's inboxes or meeting recordings, unless a recording has been shared with you directly.

What you can ask Fyxer Chat

Fyxer Chat can search across:

  • Your inbox

  • Meeting recordings and summaries you have access to

  • Uploaded documents and files

  • Your calendar

  • The web (for general research and context)

Below are common ways teams use Chat day-to-day.

Inbox history

Ask questions like:

  • "Find the email thread about the new property listing"

  • "Who introduced me to this client?"

  • "What are the latest updates on the investor deck?"

Fyxer searches across your connected email accounts and surfaces the most relevant threads.

Meeting notes and recordings

Ask questions like:

  • "What were the key points from yesterday's valuation call?"

  • "Which follow-ups came out of my meeting with [company name]?"

Fyxer scans meeting transcripts, summaries, and action items.

Tasks and priorities

Ask questions like:

  • "What do I need to action today?"

  • "What deadlines are coming up this week?"

Fyxer pulls tasks and follow-ups from email threads, meeting notes, and summaries.

Uploaded documents

Ask questions like:

  • "What does our onboarding guide say about integrations?"

  • "Summarize our pricing sheet"

Fyxer references documents you've uploaded to your workspace and uses them as context when answering or drafting. You can also upload documents directly into Chat – see the Upload documents to Chat section for more on this.

Using @ mentions

The @ mention lets you pull specific context directly into your question: a specific person, a document, a meeting, and more.

How to use it:

  1. Type @ in the Chat input bar

  2. Select a category from the dropdown (e.g. Person, Document, Meeting recording)

  3. Choose the specific item from the list that appears

For example: type @ → select Meeting recording → choose a meeting to reference or ask questions about that specific meeting.

Upload documents to Chat

You can upload PDFs and CSVs directly into Chat. Once uploaded, Fyxer can reference them when answering questions and surfacing context, not just in that conversation, but in future chats too.

When Fyxer references an uploaded document, it shows a document widget you can click to go straight to the document page, where you can view and manage it.

How to upload:

  1. Click the attachment icon in the Chat input bar

  2. Select your PDF or CSV file

  3. Once uploaded, the document is available via @ mentions and can be referenced by Fyxer in future chats

File size limit: 50MB per file.

From question to draft email

Scenario: you've just finished a client call and need to follow up, but can't remember the exact next steps.

In Fyxer Chat, you ask: "What were the action items from my call with Greenfield Capital?"

Fyxer:

  • Pulls the action items from the meeting summary

  • Highlights deadlines and responsibilities

You then ask: "Draft a short follow-up email confirming next steps and timelines."

Fyxer:

  • Uses the meeting notes, your writing style, and context

  • Drafts a clear, client-ready email

The draft is saved automatically to your email Drafts folder, ready to review and send.

How to use Fyxer Chat

  1. Open your Dashboard → Chat

  2. Type your question or select a suggested prompt

  3. Press Enter to get your answer

Choose your response mode

You can control how Fyxer responds using the mode selector in the Chat input bar. Click the dropdown to choose:

  • Fast: quick answers, good for simple lookups

  • Balanced: the default; balances speed with depth

  • Research: deeper reasoning for complex questions or longer drafts

The current model is shown at the top of the dropdown (e.g. GPT-5.4 · medium reasoning). This may change over time as we upgrade the models powering Fyxer.

As Fyxer works through your question, you'll see live status updates showing what it's doing, for example, "Checking your calendar..." or "Searching your inbox." Related steps are grouped together, and earlier steps are tucked away once your answer arrives to keep things tidy.

Draft emails directly from Chat

You can use Chat to draft:

  • A new email from scratch

  • A reply based on existing context

  • A follow-up message

  • A longer, structured email (e.g. a client recap or proposal)

Fyxer uses your:

  • Inbox history

  • Writing style

  • Meeting notes

  • Uploaded documents

  • Calendar context

Where drafts go: all drafts created in Chat are saved in your email Drafts folder. A Create draft button also appears alongside your drafted email in Chat. Click it to send the draft straight to your email Drafts folder.

If you manage multiple inboxes, you can choose which account the draft should be created in.

Manage your calendar from Chat

You can handle the basics of your calendar without leaving Chat. Ask Fyxer to:

  • Pull up your upcoming schedule: "What does my week look like?"

  • Cancel a meeting: "Cancel my 3pm call tomorrow"

  • Reply to an invite: "Reply yes to the Tuesday all-hands"

Fyxer confirms what it's done before making any changes, so you stay in control.

Voice mode: ask questions hands-free

You can speak directly to Fyxer Chat instead of typing. Voice mode works for:

  • Inbox questions

  • Meeting summaries

  • Document queries

  • Tasks and follow-ups

How to use it: tap the microphone icon → speak your question → Fyxer returns the answer.

Chat inside meeting recordings

You can also use Chat directly from a recorded meeting.

Go to your Dashboard → Notetaker → Recorded → Open a meeting.

Use the chat panel to:

  • Ask questions about the transcript

  • Pull key moments

  • Request a follow-up email

  • Draft a client recap

All drafts created here also appear in your email Drafts folder.

Tips for best results

  • Be specific: include names, companies, or topics, e.g. "What did Sam say about budget?"

  • Use keywords that appeared in the email or meeting

  • For long drafts, give clear instructions, e.g. "Draft a short, friendly follow-up confirming next steps"

Troubleshooting

If Chat can't answer your question:

  • Check that your email and calendar integrations are connected

  • Ensure the meeting was processed (transcript available)

  • Confirm uploaded documents are under 50MB and readable

  • Try rephrasing your question with more detail
