Fyxer automatically handles time zones so meetings are scheduled correctly - even when you're working with people in different locations or traveling.
This article explains how time zones are detected, when you might need to adjust them, and how to avoid common scheduling mistakes.
How Fyxer Handles Time Zones
Whenever Fyxer suggests times or shows availability, it checks:
Your connected calendar's time zone (Google or Outlook)
Your Scheduling settings in the dashboard
The recipient's location (when booking via a scheduling link)
Any times mentioned in the email (e.g. "next Tuesday at 3pm")
Fyxer always uses your calendar as the source of truth, so what you see in your calendar is what others will see.
Where to Check or Update Your Time Zone
If something looks off, start here:
Go to your Dashboard → Scheduling Settings → Time zone
Confirm it matches your calendar's time zone.
Fyxer will automatically stay in sync with your calendar if your location changes.
Working or Traveling in a Different Time Zone
If you're working from a different time zone for a few days:
Open your calendar
Select the dates you’ll be in a new time zone
Type
TZ: {location}(e.g. TZ: London)Save your override
Best practice:
Change the time zone directly in Google Calendar or Outlook
Fyxer will immediately start suggesting times based on that new zone
Your working hours and availability rules will still apply
There's no need to manually tell Fyxer your location - keeping your calendar accurate is enough.
What Happens When Someone Books a Meeting
When a meeting is scheduled (via draft or link):
Each attendee sees the meeting in their own local time
Calendar invites automatically convert time zones
No manual conversion or clarification needed
This avoids the classic "Wait - what time did you mean?" follow-ups.
Common Causes of Time Zone Confusion
If meetings are showing up at the wrong time, check:
Your calendar app's time zone setting
Your Scheduling settings in the Fyxer dashboard
Whether your device recently changed time zones
That your calendar is still connected to Fyxer
Fixing the calendar time zone usually resolves the issue immediately.
