Why am I getting an error when connecting my email?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

If you're connecting to Fyxer AI for the first time, this may time some time to categorize your inbox. However, if you're seeing an error while trying to connect your Gmail or Outlook account to Fyxer AI, it's fairly common. These issues usually come from Google or Microsoft, and they’re often out of our control.

But don’t worry, most of them can be fixed by following the steps below.

Common Error Messages and What They Mean

Error message

What it means

400 / 500 Error

Microsoft-specific issue. Nothing Fyxer AI can fix from our side.

Rate Limit

Too much activity in Outlook - Fyxer AI is blocked temporarily.

Error Connecting to Google

This error will detail a reason in the message, often caused by duplicate email addresses in your organization.

"Sorry, we're having trouble signing you in"

This is likely a domain mismatch - you're trying to join an org with the wrong email address.

How to Fix Most Connection Issues

Step 1: Disconnect Your Current Email Integration

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations

  2. Under “Email,” click the bin icon and select Delete Integration

Step 2: Clear and Reconnect

  1. Clear your browser cache, then refresh or open a new browser window

  2. Return to the dashboard and reconnect your email

  3. Log back into Gmail or Outlook

Still Not Working? Try These Extra Tips

  • Disable browser extensions or email plugins - they can block the connection

  • Wait an hour and try again (especially for rate limits or Microsoft errors)

  • Revoke Fyxer AI’s access from your Google or Microsoft account, then re-approve it

  • Double-check your sign-in email - you may be using an address already linked to another Fyxer organization (Use incognito/private browsing mode if standard solutions do not work)

When Your Password is Correct

If you’ve verified your password and still cannot log in, consider:

  • Using an incognito or private browser window to bypass cache or extension conflicts.

    • Most browsers offer this mode under their menu options.

  • Confirming that your email credentials match those required by the platform or provider. If the login issue is caused by mismatched domains, revisiting account permissions via your connected services like Google may help.

  • Ensure the email used matches your Fyxer subscription settings.

  • Verify linked external permissions with platforms like Google for uninterrupted access.
