How to manually request a draft

Updated yesterday

Fyxer automatically generates drafts for emails labeled To Respond, but you can also request a draft manually at any time. Manual drafting is helpful when Fyxer doesn't automatically create a reply or when you want to fine-tune how it responds.

When to Use Manual Drafting

Manual draft requests are useful when:

  • You archived or snoozed an email before Fyxer could draft

  • You already replied and want help drafting an additional follow-up

  • The message didn't meet auto-draft criteria (too short, vague, or no clear action)

  • You want to test how Fyxer handles tone, phrasing, or specific instructions

  • You want a draft for an automated or system-generated message

How to Request a Manual Draft

1. Forward the email to Fyxer

  1. Open the email you want help with

  2. Forward it to [email protected]

  3. In the message body, type: draft

  4. (Optional) Add instructions to guide the tone or content

Example: draft β€” short, friendly reply confirming the deadline

2. Where your draft appears

Fyxer will generate a reply and place it:

  • Back in the original email thread, if Conversation View is enabled

  • In your Drafts folder, if Conversation View is disabled

Most drafts arrive within a few minutes.

Tips for Best Results

  • Include helpful instructions - Guidance like tone ("polite but firm"), context, or key points improves accuracy

  • Use Conversation View - Turn on Conversation View in Gmail/Outlook so the draft appears in the correct thread

  • Avoid forwarding the same email multiple times - This can result in duplicate drafts

  • Drafting automated emails - Auto-generated messages normally don't trigger drafts - but forwarding them with "draft" will create one
