How to leave an organization and create your own account

If you've been added to a Fyxer organization you didn't intend to join - or you just want your own individual account - you can leave the organization and set up your own subscription.


Why You Might Be in an Organization You Didn't Expect

This usually happens when:

  • Someone at your company already created a Fyxer organization

  • The auto-add domain setting is enabled

  • You signed up using the same work email domain (e.g. @company.com)

When that setting is on, Fyxer automatically adds new users from the same domain to the existing organization.

Option 1: Leave the Organization and Start Your Own Account (Most Common)

Choose this if:

  • You want your own billing

  • You don't want to be part of a shared workspace

  • This is a personal or individual expense

Step 1: Leave the organization

  1. Go to Dashboard → Settings → Organization

  2. Open the Advanced tab

  3. Choose Leave organization

If you don't see this option, contact [email protected] and we'll help you exit safely.

Step 2: Create your own Fyxer account

Once you've left:

  1. Log out of Fyxer

  2. Sign up again using your email address

  3. Complete setup and choose your plan

Tip: If you want to avoid being auto-added again, ask support to disable auto-add for your domain, or use a different email domain.


Option 2: Stay in the Organization, But Change Roles or Billing

If you do want to stay in the organization but need control:

  • Ask an Admin to make you an Admin

  • Or request a billing role change

What Happens to Your Data?

If you leave the organization:

  • Your personal drafts, inbox settings, and meeting notes are removed from that organization

  • No one else can access your data

If you create a new account:

  • Your new account starts fresh

  • You'll reconnect your inbox and calendar during setup

Data does not automatically transfer between organizations.


Common Questions

I didn't approve these charges - will I still be billed?

Billing is tied to the organization. Once you leave:

  • You are no longer billed as part of that org

  • Any refund questions should be directed to support

Can I use the same email address?

Yes. You can use the same email after leaving the organization.

What if I can't leave on my own?

Email [email protected] with:

  • Your email address

  • Organization name

  • A short explanation ("I want to leave and have my own account")

How to Avoid This in the Future

  • Check whether an organization already exists before signing up

  • Review auto-add domain settings early

  • Ensure billing owners are Admins

  • Add a second Admin for safety
