How team billing works (per-seat pricing explained)

Updated yesterday

Fyxer uses per-seat billing. This means you're billed based on the number of people in your organization who have access to Fyxer - not just the number of inboxes connected.

What Is a "Seat"?

A seat is one active user in your Fyxer organization.

Each seat includes:

  • Access to Fyxer features based on your plan

  • Their own inbox and calendar connection (if enabled)

  • Drafts, categorization, and meeting notes for that user

If someone can log in to your organization, they occupy a seat.

How Per-Seat Billing Works

  • You're billed per user (seat)

  • Billing applies whether the user is:

    • Invited manually

    • Added automatically via your email domain

  • Charges scale as seats are added or removed

Example: If your plan costs $37.50/user/month and you have 4 users, your monthly cost is $150.

What Happens When You Invite a Teammate?

When you invite someone to your organization:

  • A new seat is added

  • Your billing updates automatically

  • Charges are prorated for the remainder of the billing period

You'll see the updated seat count in Settings → Billing.

Auto-Add Domain: The Most Common Source of Surprise Charges

If Automatically add users for this domain is enabled, anyone who signs up with your company email domain (e.g. @company.com) will be added to your organization automatically.

This:

  • Adds a seat

  • Increases your bill

  • Does not require manual approval

Strong recommendation: Review this setting before inviting teammates or sharing Fyxer internally.

You can find it here: Dashboard → Settings → Organization → Automatically add users for this domain

How to Prevent Unexpected Seat Charges

To stay in control:

  • Review the auto-add domain setting

  • Invite teammates intentionally

  • Remove inactive users you no longer need

  • Check seat count regularly in Billing

If you're unsure why seats were added, support can help you audit the changes.

Who Pays for Team Members?

Billing is organization-level, not individual.

  • One payment method covers all seats

  • Invited users do not pay separately

  • The organization owner controls billing

Removing a User

When you remove a user:

  • Their seat is freed

  • Future charges are reduced

  • You're not retroactively refunded, but billing adjusts going forward

Seat removals apply at the next billing cycle or prorated if applicable.

Common Questions

"I invited someone during a trial - why was I charged?"

Invited users still count as seats once billing begins.

"I didn't invite these users - why are they here?"

This is almost always caused by auto-add domain being enabled.

"Do shared inboxes count as seats?"

No - only individual users with login access count as seats.

Where to Review Your Billing

Go to: Dashboard → Settings → Billing

You'll see:

  • Current plan

  • Seat count

  • Billing cycle

  • Upcoming charges
