You can take notes while a meeting is being recorded in Fyxer. Capture thoughts in real time, without switching tabs, opening another app, or risking the recording stopping in the background.
Notes can be kept private or shared with other participants in real time.
How notes work
In-meeting notes are available during:
In-person meetings
Virtual meetings (Google Meet, Zoom, Teams)
Meetings recorded via the Notetaker desktop app
Jot down ideas, reminders, or key points while the meeting is happening – all within the same screen where Fyxer is recording.
Notes are saved automatically as you type.
How to take notes
For in-person meetings:
Go to Dashboard → Notetaker → Record meeting → Start recording now. Once the recording is live, you'll see the notes view.
For virtual meetings:
Join your meeting first, then go to Dashboard → Notetaker → Record meeting → Start recording now and select the meeting you are currently in.
Using the Fyxer desktop app:
If you're recording an in-person meeting via the desktop app, click the Fyxer logo in your menu bar to open the notes view.
Once you're in the notes view, you can choose whether to take shared or private notes by toggling between the two tabs:
Private vs. shared notes
Shared notes allow you to collaborate with other meeting participants in real time. They work like a Google Doc: you can see each other's cursors as you type, making it easy to build a joint record of the meeting together.
Shared notes are:
Visible to all participants who have access to the meeting in Fyxer
Not included in meeting summaries or transcripts
Switch to Private notes if you want your notes to only be visible to you.
Private notes are:
Only visible to you
Not shared with other participants or visible to admins
Not included when meetings are shared
Even if a meeting recording or summary is shared, your private notes content remains visible only to you.
Switch modes by toggling between the Shared or Private tabs.
How notes work with meeting summaries
Currently:
Notes do not affect transcripts
Notes are not included in meeting summaries
Notes are not used in meeting pre-reads
Meeting summaries are generated from the recorded transcript only.
