macOS Gatekeeper Errors and "Open Anyway" Steps

If you see a message that the app can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer:

  1. Open System Preferences → Security & Privacy

  2. Under the General tab, you'll see a message about the Notetaker app

  3. Click Open Anyway to allow the app to run


"Application Not Supported" Errors (Architecture Compatibility)

  • Ensure you are downloading the correct version for your Mac (Only Apple Silicon is supported)

  • If you see an "application not supported" error, check your Mac's architecture in About This Mac and download the matching installer


Windows Installation Issues

  • Make sure you have administrator rights to install new applications

  • If you see a security warning, click More infoRun anyway

  • Ensure your Windows version meets the minimum requirements (see below)


System Requirements

macOS:

  • Version 13 (Ventura) or later

  • Apple Silicon (M1, M2, or newer)

  • Intel Macs are not supported

Windows:

  • Windows 10 or later

  • 64-bit processor

  • At least 4GB RAM

Both:

  • Stable internet connection for authentication and uploads
