How Fyxer organizes your inbox in Gmail (labels and inbox view)

How Fyxer uses Gmail labels to keep your inbox clear.

Updated over a week ago

Gmail uses labels instead of folders. Fyxer builds on that system to keep your inbox clear, predictable, and easy to work from.

How labels work in Gmail

Fyxer labels emails automatically, ranked by priority, with "To do" being your most important. This is followed by FYI, Notification, To follow up, and Marketing.

Each email also receives a second topic-based label. These sublabels can be individually or all toggled off in Dashboard β†’ Categorization.

Choose which categories appear in your inbox

You can decide which categories stay in your inbox, and which are filed away automatically under their labels.

Go to your Dashboard β†’ Categorization. You'll see two columns:

  • Move these out of my inbox

  • Keep these in my inbox

Each category has a toggle:

  • Toggled ON: email skips your inbox and lives only in the label. This keeps your inbox quiet and focused

  • Toggled OFF: email stays in your inbox with the label. Perfect if you want to see more messages upfront

Tip: to keep your inbox focused on what matters most, keep To do and FYI in your inbox, and move the rest out.

Select Update preferences if you make any changes. Changes will apply to new emails going forward.
