Fyxer can only draft replies from email addresses that are fully connected inboxes. Adding an alias helps Fyxer recognize you, but it doesn't give permission to draft or send from that address.
This distinction is important and is the source of most confusion.
How Fyxer Handles Aliases vs Connected Inboxes
Connected inbox (required for drafting):
Fyxer has full access to read and draft replies
Replies are drafted from that email address
Works for Gmail or Outlook inboxes with their own login
Alternate email / alias (recognition only):
Helps Fyxer understand that multiple addresses belong to you
Prevents misclassification (e.g. emails marked as external)
Does not allow Fyxer to draft or send from that address
Think of aliases as identity signals, not sending permissions.
Two Ways to Draft From Multiple Email Addresses
Option 1 (recommended): Connect each inbox you reply from
If you actively reply from more than one address:
Go to Fyxer Dashboard → Settings → Integrations
Click Connect email
Add each inbox you want Fyxer to draft from
Complete the Gmail or Outlook connection flow
Result: Fyxer automatically drafts replies from the correct address based on where the email was received.
Option 2: Switch your primary Fyxer inbox
If you want to stop using one address and move fully to another:
Disconnect your current inbox in Settings → Integrations
Delete your existing Fyxer account
Sign up again using the new email address
In Settings → Categorization Settings → Advanced, add the old address as an Alternative Email
Result: Fyxer recognizes emails sent to your old address as yours, but drafts replies from your new primary inbox.
What Fyxer Can't Do (Yet)
To avoid surprises, here are the current limitations:
Draft from an alias that isn't a connected inbox
Draft from Address B for emails received in Address A unless both inboxes are connected
Connect shared or group inboxes (e.g.
info@,support@) unless they have their own login
Shared inbox workaround:
You can forward the email to your connected personal inbox to generate a draft. Note: the reply will come from your personal address, not the shared inbox.
Common Questions
Why doesn't adding an alias just work?
Email providers require explicit permission per inbox. Without a full connection, Fyxer isn't allowed to draft or send from that address.
Will this change in the future?
Support for shared inboxes and expanded alias handling is a common request and actively tracked, but not available today.
