Why didn't Fyxer draft an email?

Fyxer automatically generates draft replies for emails labeled To Respond.

If a draft didn't appear - or appears blank - this guide will help you find out why.


Use the steps below to diagnose and fix the issue quickly.


Quick Checks (Start Here)

1. Draft replies turned ON?

  • Open your Fyxer Dashboard

  • Go to Drafts Settings

  • Ensure Draft replies = toggled ON

Drafts will not generate at all if this is off.

2. Email correctly labeled "To Respond"?

Drafts only trigger for emails labeled To Respond.

  • Check whether Fyxer auto-labeled the thread

  • Manual label changing will not trigger drafts automatically

  • Auto-labeling must be active in Categorization Settings

Tip: Add VIP senders into your Fyxer email rules to always mark emails from them as To Respond.

3. Email & calendar integrations connected?

  • Go to Settings → Integrations

  • Ensure both your email and calendar are connected

  • If needed, disconnect → wait 2–3 minutes → reconnect

Calendars are needed for meeting-related drafts.

4. Conversation View enabled?

Fyxer drafts depend on threaded messages.

If Conversation View is OFF:

  • Drafts may appear "lost" or blank

  • Drafts may only show in your Drafts folder

  • Draft generation may fail entirely

Turn on Conversation View:

  • Gmail: Settings → General → Conversation View → On

  • Outlook: View → Show as Conversations → On

5. Filters, snooze, or archive rules interfering?

Drafts will not generate if the email is:

  • Snoozed

  • Archived

  • Auto-moved out of the inbox before Fyxer sees it

Gmail/Outlook rules can also cause delays—but Fyxer will still try to draft once the email is visible in the account.

6. Drafts only appear for new emails

Drafts begin generating after you enable Draft replies.

Emails processed during the first setup scan (last ~300 emails) will not retroactively generate drafts.



Where to Check for Drafts

Drafts may appear in slightly different places depending on your settings.

If Conversation View is ON:

  • Drafts appear inside the email thread

  • AND in your standard Drafts folder

If Conversation View is OFF:

  • Drafts appear in the Drafts folder

  • But may not align with the correct thread

  • They may look "blank" in the thread

If "To Respond → Move to folder" is checked:

  • Check the To Respond folder/label as well



Common Reasons Fyxer Skips a Draft

Even if an email is labeled To Respond, Fyxer may intentionally skip drafting when:

1. The message is automated or transactional

Examples:

  • Calendar invites

  • Typeform / form submissions

  • System alerts

  • Receipts and confirmations

  • Security notifications

Drafts are designed for human-like email exchanges, not automated content.

2. The message has no actionable request

If the email contains no question, task, or decision point, Fyxer may skip drafting.

3. Draft frequency is set too low

If drafts are too sparse:

  • Go to Categorization Settings → Reply & Filter Settings

  • Move the slider toward Very often (This makes Fyxer more proactive)

4. Thread complexity or missing context

Examples:

  • You were only CC'd

  • The message is too short

  • The thread is extremely long

  • You replied before Fyxer had a chance to draft



Want a Draft Anyway? (Manual Trigger)

If Fyxer skipped drafting but you still want a suggested reply:


Forward to Fyxer

Example: "Please draft a reply for this."



Reset Fyxer's Email Integration (Advanced Fix)

If Fyxer isn't showing categories, drafts, or folders:

  1. Go to Dashboard → Settings → Integrations

  2. Remove the email integration

  3. Choose "Keep Fyxer folders and labels"

  4. Log out of your email client

  5. Reconnect your email in the Fyxer Dashboard

  6. Log back in to your mailbox

This refreshes permissions while retaining all folders.



Navigating Fyxer Category Folders (Outlook Tips)

If emails are routed into category folders:

  • Outlook Mobile: Open the mailbox index → scroll to find your Fyxer folders

  • Outlook Desktop: Fyxer folders appear automatically in the sidebar → This helps keep your main inbox clean and prioritized



Privacy & Control

  • Fyxer never sends drafts without your review

  • Your edits never train external AI models

  • Your email content remains private to your account
