What happens to Fyxer folders, labels and categories after disconnecting?

If you’re disconnecting Fyxer AI - whether temporarily for a clean reconnect or permanently - here’s what to expect with folders, labels, and categories in Gmail and Outlook.

For Gmail Users

  • No need to delete labels manually. Fyxer will automatically clean up its labels when you disconnect or reconnect.

  • Still seeing old labels? That likely means the disconnect didn’t complete properly. You can safely delete those labels yourself directly from Gmail.

For Outlook Users

This can be a bit more complex, especially if you're using the Outlook Desktop app.

  • When you disconnect, Fyxer removes:

    • All folders it created

    • Any custom categories applied

  • Outlook Web always reflects the truth.
If folders or categories still appear in the desktop app but not in Outlook Web, they’ve already been deleted - they’re just stuck in the desktop cache.

  • Outlook usually resolves this over time, or after a restart.

Seeing Greyed-out Categories?

If a category still appears in grey on older emails:

  • It’s already been deleted from your category list

  • But it’s still tagged to the original emails

To remove it completely, manually clear it from the affected messages.

💡 Tip before deleting folders: If you plan to delete any Fyxer folders manually, make sure you move important emails out first. Deleting a folder could also delete its contents.
