How to edit transcripts and customize meeting summaries

Updated today

Fyxer gives you full control over your meeting outputs. After a meeting is recorded, you can edit the transcript, choose a different summary style, customize the rewrite, and export your notes in the format you need.

Edit the Transcript

You can edit the transcript directly inside any recorded meeting.

What you can change:

  • Fix misspelled names

  • Correct phrases or terminology

  • Remove off-topic or confidential sections

Any transcript edits automatically update the context Fyxer uses when regenerating summaries.

Choose a Summary Style

You can switch between different summary structures using the Summary style dropdown at the top of your meeting notes.

Available styles:

  • Executive (default) - High-level overview of discussion points, decisions, and actions

  • Chronological - Time-ordered summary of topics, decisions, and action items

  • Sales - Summaries designed for sales calls - highlighting prospect needs, blockers, next steps, and opportunities

How to switch styles:

  1. Open a recorded meeting in your DashboardMeetings → Recordings

  2. Click the current summary style (e.g., Executive)

  3. Select a style from the dropdown menu

  4. Click Regenerate to apply the new structure

Switching styles helps you tailor notes for internal handovers, client recaps, or sales workflows.

Customize Your Summary

Use the customization box to guide how Fyxer rewrites the summary.

Examples of prompts:

  • "Add next steps"

  • "Highlight risks"

  • "Summarize this for clients"

  • "Make it shorter"

  • "Expand the context around the decision about budget"

Quick adjustments:

  • More detail - Expands with additional context

  • Less detail - Focuses on essentials

  • More concise - Tightens the language

  • Regenerate - Produces a fresh summary based on the latest transcript

Export and Share Your Summary

You can share your notes directly from the meeting view:

  • Copy summary - Copy text for email, Slack, or CRM

  • Download PDF - Export a polished, share-ready PDF

Recording Retention & Deletion

Admins can control how long meeting recordings and transcripts are kept. This is an organization-level setting and applies to all users in the team.

How retention settings work

Retention settings apply to all recordings, including existing ones.

When you change the setting (for example, from Never to 7 days):

  • Fyxer deletes any recordings older than 7 days immediately

  • Recordings continue to be deleted automatically as they pass the 7-day mark

Deletions are automatic and cannot be undone.

Example:

If an Admin switches retention from Never to 7 days, Fyxer deletes all recordings older than 7 days - not just new ones created after the change.

If your team needs to keep older recordings, review or export them before updating retention settings.
