How to record a meeting in Fyxer

How to record meetings, invite the Notetaker, or upload recordings into Fyxer for transcription and summaries.

Updated this week

Fyxer lets you capture, transcribe, and summarize any meeting - whether it's happening live, scheduled online, or already recorded. You can record through your microphone, manually invite the Notetaker, or upload a file.

1. Record via Microphone (Live or In-Person)

Use this option to record audio directly from your device's microphone. This is ideal for:

  • In-person meetings

  • Brainstorming sessions

  • Ad-hoc discussions not linked to a calendar event

Steps:

  1. Go to Dashboard → Meetings → Recordings

  2. Click Record Meeting → Start recording

  3. (Optional) Link the recording to a calendar event

  4. Review your microphone input (default: built-in mic; you can change it)

  5. Click Start recording

Fyxer will record for up to 2 hours, then automatically process the transcript and summary.

Tips for best results:

  • Record in a quiet environment

  • Introduce yourself and attendees clearly with name

  • Let participants know the session is being recorded

  • External microphones improve clarity and accuracy

2. Invite the Notetaker to an Online Meeting

Use this option to have the Fyxer Notetaker join your meeting as a participant. Works with:

  • Zoom

  • Microsoft Teams

  • Google Meet

Steps:

  1. Choose Add to live Meeting

  2. Paste the meeting URL (Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet)

  3. Click Start recording

The Notetaker will join the meeting, capture the discussion, and generate the transcript and summary.

Upload an Existing Recording

If you already have a recorded meeting from Zoom, Teams, Meet, or another tool, you can upload it into Fyxer for transcription and summarization.

Steps:

  1. Select Upload audio or video

  2. (Optional) Link the upload to a calendar event

  3. Click Choose file to upload your audio or video file (maximum size: 1 GB)

  4. Click Import meeting

Fyxer will process the file and generate notes once complete.

After the Meeting

Once processing finishes, Fyxer provides:

  • A searchable transcript

  • A meeting summary with key points, decisions, and action items

  • Summary style options (general, chronological, sales-focused, etc.)

  • Summary editing tools (expand, shorten, regenerate)

  • Ability to copy notes or download as a PDF

  • Chat with Transcript for asking questions and locating information quickly
