Admin setup guide: how to approve Fyxer in Microsoft 365

For IT admins approving third-party app access in Microsoft 365.

Updated this week

Fyxer securely integrates with Microsoft 365 to organize inboxes, draft smart replies, and capture meeting notes automatically.

To enable Outlook connections for your team, you'll need to grant Fyxer permission in Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD). This authorizes a secure, organization-wide connection through Microsoft's verified OAuth process.

Fyxer is a verified Microsoft partner app. For details on our security and compliance practices, visit the Fyxer Trust Center.

Granting access to Fyxer

There are two ways to approve Fyxer. Use method 1 if you haven't approved it yet. Use method 2 if you need to manage or review permissions centrally, or approve access retroactively.

Admins can approve Fyxer using one of two methods:

Method 1: grant consent during Fyxer login

This is the quickest option and grants access for all users in your organization.

Steps:

  1. Navigate to Fyxer and click Continue with Microsoft/Outlook

  2. Sign in with your Microsoft admin account

  3. On the Permissions requested screen, check Consent on behalf of your organization

  4. Click Accept

Once approved, all users in your organization can connect Fyxer, including anyone who previously saw a "Need admin approval" message. Those users just need to return to fyxer.com and try connecting again.

If you missed the consent checkbox during setup, use method 2 below.

Method 2: grant consent in Microsoft Entra portal

Use this method to approve Fyxer centrally or retroactively, without needing to go through the Fyxer login flow.

Steps:

  1. Go to Microsoft Entra ID → Enterprise Applications

  2. Search for Fyxer

  3. Go to Security → click Permissions

  4. Click Grant Admin consent for Fyxer AI Ltd

Once approved, all users can connect Fyxer without individual admin approval.

Optional configuration

1. Enable admin consent requests

This allows users to request access themselves if they hit a "Need admin approval" message, so it comes to you as a request rather than a support ticket.

Steps:

  1. In Microsoft Entra ID, go to Enterprise ApplicationsConsent and permissions

  2. Select Admin Consent Settings

  3. Set Users can request admin consent to apps they are unable to consent to to Yes

  4. Under Reviewer Type select the users, groups or roles who should review incoming requests

To review pending requests, go to Microsoft Entra ID → Enterprise Applications → Admin Consent Requests.

2. Remove individual assignment requirements

By default, some organizations require users to be individually assigned to an app before they can connect. Turning this off means any user in your tenant can connect to Fyxer automatically once admin consent has been granted.

This step is optional – if your organization uses strict app assignment policies, you may prefer to leave it as is.

Steps:

  1. In Enterprise Applications, select Fyxer

  2. Go to Manage → Properties

  3. Set Assignment required? to No

A few best practices

  • Review granted permissions periodically under Enterprise Applications → Fyxer → Permissions to make sure they align with your organization's security policies

  • Keep Fyxer visible in your Enterprise Applications list for transparency

  • If your organization uses Conditional Access, make sure Fyxer is listed as a trusted cloud app. Otherwise users may be blocked from signing in due to device or location policies enforced before OAuth authentication
